I support this rezoning and this project.
I live less than 1/2 a mile from this site. This project adds single family homes to a neighborhood of single family homes on a large underutilized lot. This is an appropriate location and context in which to build single family homes. Lakewood needs more housing, particularly single-family homes that are affordable to families. I appreciate the idea of rezoning to R-2 to be able to have a smaller lot size of 5,000 square feet and thus be able to build more homes. Rezoning to R-1-6 or one of the other R-1 zones would results in fewer homes on larger lots, meaning that the homes that would get built would be more expensive.
