This is a great proposal! Improving air quality may seem like an overwhelming task, but there are simple things we can do to improve our air quality. Educating everyone about reducing vehicle idling is a great example. Education would dispel the myth that shutting the car off when idling for more than 30 seconds is bad for a vehicle, it is not. More importantly, the number of our neighbors who suffer from bad air quality is enormous and includes our seniors, children with asthma, and persons of any age who have respiratory issues. We owe it to them to do whatever we can to improve our local air quality. Education reminds us of what we can do and encourages us to change behavior. When it comes to air quality, we should make fewer vehicle trips, combine errands, carpool more, and yes, shut off our vehicles when idling for more than 30 seconds. Please support this education proposal!
