Comment Policy
General Guidelines. Comments should be directed to the Planning Commission or City Council. Comments are most useful if they directly relate to the Planning Commission or City Council agenda item and address the decision criteria for the agenda item being considered. City council members pledge to be respectful and open to citizens that appear before them, and expect commenters to do the same.
Moderation. This limited public forum is intended for use by Lakewood residents and others impacted by community matters to communicate feedback and opinions to the Planning Commission and City Council.
It is the goal of Lakewood Speaks to be a productive, accessible online platform for the City of Lakewood. To this end and in an effort to keep the dialogue both civil and on topic for the intended purpose of the platform, please refrain from any of the following:
- Profanity and obscenity
- Threatening or abusive language
- Personal attacks
- False identification of the commenter
- Language or concepts which are intended to be offensive or are demonstrably false
- Language promoting or advertising businesses, services, events, organizations or political candidates
- Comments directed at prior commenters or the public, rather than Planning Commission and City Council members
